This is the first in the Cell series of paintings, this one depicting animal cells. The varied structure of cells has always facinated me and I've tried to combine several different types into this design. There are several individual images embedded within the whole, the fertilisation of an egg, an amoeba, blood cell constituants and the ravages of bacteria to name but a few. The inspiration for this series stems from my love of exploring the art of science, looking for design influence in nature. This water-based ink painting is 33x23 inches (A1) on 200gsm water colour paper. It is signed on the front and sold unmounted and unframed, shipped rolled in a protective cardboard tube.
